ur story begins in the nineteen twenties when the engineer Giovanni Oreste Venier sets up a programme of collaboration between the Company and design engineers to optimise the utilization of our ERACLIT slabs with their amazing insulating and sound absorbing properties.

t the same time, the Company starts the activity of processing slabs of marble for the purpose of covering our panels and the internal and external decoration of buildings. Very often the marble is used as an external covering of the ERACLIT panels to obtain effective waterproofing of the external wall.

n the fifties, ERACLIT develops its own business of processing valuable national marble and excels in the importation of materials from various European countries.

reat importance is attributed to technical innovation. The perfecting of new technologies for cutting marble blocks enables the production of very light slabs as thin as 7 mm. suitable for a notable variety of uses: from floors to coverings, to the famous stained glass effect which exploits in the most opportune way the possibilities offered by the extraordinary transparency of the material thus treated.

MPELMARMO was born. The continuos search for new materials involves the exclusives purchase of different varieties for their astonishing colours and superb quality. Particular attention is given to the traditional stones of Venice: first of all the Pietra d'Istria, but also the historical marble coming from the Mediterranean basin.

ast evidence of their use by craftsmen of the apogee of the glorious history of Venice can be traced in the splendid walls of the Basilica of St. Mark's where the Rosso Eretria, Verde Antico and a variety of onyx are notable for their precious variety of design and refined blending of colours.

n the sixties the commercial structure of the Company is consolidated together with a programme of interlinked assistance aimed at designers, architects and complementary companies operating in this sector. With the rediscovery of granite in the construction industry in the sixties, the company grows rapidly in search of innovative and reliable materials coming from all over the world: from Spain to Brazil, from South Africa to India.
RACLIT distinguishes itself in identifying sources suitable for a wide range of markets, with a particular eye for homogeneous high quality and reliability, aiming to be present with specific technical contributions both at the production phase, directly in the quarries, and in the thorough checking and commercialisation of the product.

988 sees the inception of MARMI E GRANITI as a Company part of the ERACLIT Group, with stockyards in Verona, Carrara and Musile di Piave.
